Chris's First Trip Needing a Passport

The past couple of days were eventful, from meeting up with Eduardo and Debbie in Lebanon, to listening to the incessent instructions of the GPS as we tried to find our hotel in Boston; to waking up at 3:30am, giving ourselves a luxiorous two hours of waiting at the American Airlines terminal at Logan Airport, in order to catch our flight to Miami; to looking at Debbie and Eduardo exchange humourous glances as I quizzed them both about passport and entry protocols. And finally, we arrive at our destination, are wisked through the passport control and customs, the latter consisting of a man grabbing up the forms we filled out and hurrying us out into a crowd of scheming taxi drivers and anxious locals awaiting family members.

Then, we were taken on the journey to Common Hope Headquarters, courtesy of Julio, who navigated us amongst the throng of cars, most of them fast-moving and not a little bit careless. We made a detour into Antigua, and the cobblestone streets that, while a bit nerveracking by car, added so much to the colonial feel of the area. Beautiful churches stole the scene.

Finally, we were oriented to what we'd be doing these next few days, and how we ought to behave and be mindful of. We took a tour, got a bit of history about the place - in which Abigail conveyed well the thoughtfulness of those that make up the organization - ate some wonderful dinner, and wandered back to our quarters, after a long day (for some obscenely so).

I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
